Match-ups for the 2015 Skyline Classic Revealed

The match-ups for next month’s Skyline Classic, which will be returning in December to New Jersey after a 20-year hiatus, were announced earlier today. The schedule will go as follow:

Sunday, December 27
12pm: Christian Brothers Academy vs Iona Prep
2pm: St. Augustine’s vs Trenton Central
4pm: Brighton vs Our Savior New American
6pm: St. Anthony vs Pope John XXIII

Tuesday, December 29
12pm: St. Augustine’s vs Brighton
2pm: Christian Brothers Academy vs Trenton Central
4pm: Pope John XXIII vs Our Savior New American
6pm: St. Anthony vs Iona Prep

The Skyline Classic match ups for what the Newark Star Ledger has stated, “Looks like the best holiday tournament in New Jersey this year” are here for fans and media to put on their holiday schedule of places to be on December 27th and 29th, 2015 at the Community Education and Recreation Center, 180 9th Street, Jersey City, NJ. Starting off the dynamic slate of games December 27th will be a game between two local 8th grade teams showcasing the next wave of talent that will be entering high school at 10:30 am. The high school schedule of games will start with Jersey Shore perennial power Christian Brothers Academy featuring Lehigh commit Pat Andree going against Iona Prep led by Virginia commit Ty Jerome from Westchester County in New York at Noon. Following at 2 pm will be South Jersey power St. Augustine’s led by American commit Sa’eed Nelson pitted against Trenton Central the only New Jersey public school team in the field with their exciting fast paced pressing style of play. At 4 pm will be Boston City power Brighton pitted against Long Island juggernaut Our Savior New America with their roster of international player talent. In the nightcap at 6 pm will be the host school St. Anthony’s against former St. Anthony’s assistant coach Jason Hasson and his defending New Jersey Parochial A champion Pope John XXIII. St. Anthony Basketball Hall of Fame Coach Bob Hurley stated, “We are thrilled to bring these high caliber match ups to Jersey City during the Holidays to give the fans and community great basketball to enjoy.”

 

On December 29th tipping off at Noon will be two very well coached teams with St. Augustine’s against Brighton followed by a contrast in styles of play with Christian Brothers Academy against Trenton Central at 2 pm. At 4 pm will be what is sure to be a great match up of nationally ranked young talent on display with Pope John XXIII taking on Our Savior New America. In the finale at 6 pm will be two high major guards leading their teams in Georgetown commit Jagan Mosely for St. Anthony’s and Virginia commit Ty Jerome for Iona Prep.

 

Tickets will be sold in 2 game sets as Early Set and Late Set at $10 for adults and $5 for students with ID and children. Limited VIP seating will be available for $20 for a 2 game set. Parking is available at the Newport Mall Parking Garages across the street from the Community Education and Recreation Center. The Grove Street Path Station and Newport Path Stations are within short walking distance as well as the Newport Lightrail station.
