adidas Offers UK Ballers the Chance to Run With Derrick Rose

by Ben Taylor

The 2012 Olympics are just around the corner, and adidas have kicked proceedings off in style by launching their new UK campaign for the Games, entitled Take The Stage. The campaign features a host of sporting stars and celebrities, including adidas global ambassadors Derrick Rose and David Beckham.

In addition to a very cool TV spot, the three stripes are giving hoops heads from across the UK the chance to take the stage and show what they can do on the hardwood—with one lucky winner getting flown out to Chicago to sit courtside at a Bulls game and ball with none other than DRose himself.

All you need to do is show adidas you’ve got skills. Upload a video, get people to vote for you, and Rose will pick his favorite from the top 10 when the competition closes on May 20.

The challenge is one of three that aim to showcase the best young talent in the UK. Other challenges offer the chance to be the photographer for an adidas shoot with Beckham, and the opportunity to be the opening act on UK rapper Wretch 32’s upcoming tour.

adidas Marketing Director Nick Craggs said: “Our new take the stage campaign is designed to showcase London but also the talent that exists within Great Britain. adidas is providing  young people across Britain once in a lifetime opportunities that could change their lives. We feel the campaign is a great way to celebrate London and inspire the rest of Britain.”
