Charlotte, Atlanta, Baltimore Among Cities To Host AND1 Open Tryouts This Summer

From our friends at AND1:

The AND1 apparel and sneaker brand, in conjunction with IMG, today announced the first six sites to host open tryouts for the 2013 AND1 Summer Remix Basketball Tournament.  The inaugural event will be a 12-team, $100,000, winner-take-all tournament to be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the Liacouras Center on the campus of Temple University over Labor Day Weekend (August 29 – September 1).  The “Open Run” tryouts will give anyone the chance to participate in the event, with the best eight players from all of the tryouts forming a free agent team with direct entry into the tournament.

“Our brand has been built on the idea of free expression on the basketball court, and through these ‘Open Run’ tryouts we will give the best players an opportunity to join us for the ultimate prize later this summer in Philadelphia,” said  AND1 marketing director Maurice Levy. “AND1 has always been a brand of opportunity for the streetballer, and we think this summer we will help give a chance to a new legion of creative, athletic and exciting new faces in the sport.”
