Above the Rim hosted its fourth and final “Skillz” clinic in Seattle over the weekend. Not unlike the clinic held earlier this summer in NYC, more than 30 youth players took to Rainer Beach at the Boys and Girls Club to sharpen their game before middle school and high school tryouts. The four-hour training session featured players from the RSB AAU squad, as well as the A+ Plus program, which is part of the ATR Project, the brand’s community-based grant program.
The session featured skills instruction, drills and scrimmages run by lead instructor Chuck Torres. Conditioning became a factor, especially toward the end of the session, as the top-10 players competed in a final game of full court one-on-one in front of players, coaches and parents. Plus, all players walked out of the gym with some dope ATR gear.
