NBA Kicks of the Night

Thursday night featured the much anticipated matchup between Kevin Durant’s Golden State Warriors against Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Both players wore familiar kicks,as Durant donned his Nike KD 9 in the previously seen blue/yellow colorway while Westbrook took the floor once again in the Air Jordan XXXI. While the Thunder jumped out to an early lead, KD and company were too much for the Thunder to handle as he scorched his former club for 39 points while Westbrook finished with 20 points to go with 10 dimes.

In Cleveland, both LeBron James and Kyrie Irving took the floor in new colorways of the Nike Zoom LeBron X and the Nike Kyrie 2 as the Cavaliers dispatched the Boston Celtics, 128-122. In the same game, Iman Shumpert gave some sneakerheads some retro eye-candy as he pulled out the Nike Air Penny II.

One other notable sneaker story on the evening was out in Milwaukee where the Bucks Matthew Dellavedova took the floor in the Nike Kobe X Elite with the Swoosh covered up by tape. Dellavedova signed with Chinese sneaker company Peak during the off-season, and has a signature shoe with the brand called the Delly 1. It could be his shoe is still being tweaked for comfort, but it’s something ‘heads might want to keep an eye on.
