Packer x Sneaker Freaker x PUMA ‘BLOODBATH’ Event Recap (PHOTOS)

On a humid night in New York City, select friends and media gathered for the unveiling of the Packer x Sneaker Freaker x PUMA “BLOODBATH” pop-up shop at the Refinery Hotel.

A celebration of an epic collaboration between three of the most respected names in the shoe industry, the “BLOODBATH” Blaze of Glory took center stage in a space that very much communicated the shoe’s bloody, shark theme with velvety, sanguine colored curtains serving as the venue’s main backdrop. Complimenting the rouge walls were images of crashing ocean waves that served as the background for several pairs of the collaboration which were displayed in an ill custom shark cage. In addition, another custom shark cage served as the showcase for the project’s apparel collection while a lifeguard’s chair further spotlighted the entire offering. And that’s not all. The trio also enlisted the services of Mikey Likes It Ice Cream, who treated attendees to a custom “BLOODBATH” flavor which consisted of a mint flavored ice-cream with chunks of red velvet cake and chocolate swirl.

The culmination of Sneaker Freaker x PUMA’s shark-themed collaborations which started in 2008, it was a comment made by a fan that served as the the inspiration for this project’s name, when they stated that obtaining one of the previous releases was akin to a “bloodbath” considering how difficult it was to acquire a pair. Partnering up with long-time friend and colleague Mike Packer of Packer Shoes, fans have another shot at owning a pair of these coveted Blaze of Glory PUMAs, which have a price tag of $170. A complete look at the collab’s offering along with prices can be found here.

The shop officially opens today, September 3, and runs through Labor Day, September 7. For those interested in checking out pop-up, the Refinery Hotel is located at 63 W. 38th Street.
