Jordan “First to Fly” HS Dunk Contest Highlights

Friday night at Jordan Brand’s “First to Fly” Air Jordan XX9 experience in Las Vegas, a select group of high schoolers competed in a Dunk Contest that blew the top off The Cosmopolitan Hotel. Judges included Magic guard Victor Oladipo, pro basketball trainer @dribble2much, Bow Wow and Teyana Taylor. No one in the crowd, nor any of the judges, was expecting the show that these kids put on, most notably the contest’s winner: Shelby McEwen.

A Class of 2015 swingman from Oxford, Mississippi, McEwen made the field after testing off the charts at the Jordan Brand Flight Truck with a 41-inch vertical leap. And when he got his shot, he wowed the crowd with one of the sickest dunks we’ve ever seen by a high schooler—or anyone—when he took off from a step behind the free throw line and threw down.
