Try as they might – and golly, we know they’ve tried – the Indiana Pacers just can’t avoid the negative headlines.
A woman is claiming that she was sexually assaulted at the home of Marquis Daniels, but the cops don’t consider the Pacer guard a suspect.
Daniels is not a suspect in the investigation, Sheriff Doug Carter said, and he is cooperating with investigators. The victim accused someone else at the house, the sheriff added.
“I don’t know what happened; I wasn’t involved,” Daniels said late Monday.
Yeesh. Talk about a dinner party gone horribly wrong.
Not to make light of a terrible situation, but imagine what must be going on in Larry Bird’s mind. Dude just can’t catch a break in the PR game.
