Anthony Edwards Continues to Grow Heading Into 2021-22 Season

After being runner-up for the 2021 NBA Rookie of the Year award, Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves is on a mission to prove himself in his second season. Luckily for him, his body is still growing at age 20 which will help him continue to develop as a player.

Edwards stood at 6-foot-4 when selected by Minnesota with the top pick of the 2020 NBA Draft, but is now closer to 6-foot-6.

Timberwolves Head Coach Chris Finch recently spoke to of Christopher Hine of The Star Tribune, confirming the growth spurt of the young superstar.

Edwards is having fun with the growth spurt and has even made a few jokes about it recently with Finch.

“Don’t let me get to 6-6 or I’ll be Michael Jordan,” Edwards jokingly told his coach.

A player like Edwards has so much talent as it is, so an extra couple of inches will only expedite his development. He’s the type of prospect that could be the best player on the Timberwolves within the next few seasons.

As a rookie, Edwards averaged 19.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.
