Are the Cavs Going After Mo Williams?

by Marcel Mutoni

If the rumor has any substance to it, LeBron James and the sputtering Cavs’ offense could be getting some major help next season. Word on the street is that GM Danny Ferry is working on a deal that could land Mo Williams in Cleveland.

From The News-Herald:

A league source said the Cavs might be pursuing Bucks point guard Mo Williams.

All the details aren’t known, but the Cavs, Bucks and Oklahoma City (formerly Seattle) are reportedly involved.

Obviously, that’s not a whole lot to chew on, but Cavs fans should at least be pleased to learn that their organization realizes that a Delonte West-led offense isn’t going to get the job done.

Mo Williams, who signed a six-year extension with Milwaukee last summer, averaged 17 points and handed out 6 assists last season. Which begs the question, Did anyone consult with Scott Skiles on this rumored deal?
