Bassy’s chain snatched

By Sam Rubenstein

If people aren’t snitching, then we’re never going to get to the bottom of this. Sebastian Telfair, Bassy, had his $50,000 chain snatched (not the one in the photo) in the vicinity of Burger King spokesman Sean Combs restaurant Justin’s. He didn’t want to talk to the cops about it. They made him look at some lineups anyway, and he wouldn’t point a finger at anyone. Oh well. Guess he doesn’t really want his chain back. Bassy actually left the Celtics-Knicks game during the second half to check out the lineup. His lawyer claims that he’s cooperating with police as a witness, and I suppose the culprit was not in the lineup and he got away with a $50,000 piece of jewelry. The NYPost is nice enough to hint at Bassy taking the law into his own hands if you read the last short paragraph on that page. We probably won’t hear any more about this story, whether it’s handled or not. Hopefully Bassy had insurance on that thing.

It also turns out that Fabolous was at Justin’s on the same night and he was shot several times. Forgive me for being cynical, but I’m totally indifferent to rappers getting shot. I hope he’s okay, and it sounds like he is doing well enough to make sure not to speak to the cops either. The health of a man named John Jackson, who just so happens to go by the name Fabolous, is the most important thing. Other than that, my first thoughts about rappers being shot nowadays is when is his album coming out? I don’t enjoy being this cynical, but that’s the position you’re put in when this keeps happening. Also, the car that took him to the hospital was ready for war with unlicensed firearms galore. Apparently John Jackson (or should I say the people that supposedly own those guns) can’t fill out paperwork like Stephen Jackson.
