Ben Simmons To Skip Olympics To Work On Skill Development

As more NBA teams have their seasons coming to an end, Olympic teams continue to form around some of the NBA’s top talent. Most recently, the Philadelphia 76ers were eliminated from the playoffs, meaning Ben Simmons could join the Australian team if he wanted to participate.

As first reported by ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Simmons is doubtful to play for Australia in Tokyo Olympics. Instead, he will spend the upcoming offseason working on skill development.

This comes shortly after his offensive struggles in the postseason, where he shot the worst free throw percentage in playoff history and scored single digits in four of the Sixers’ seven games against the Hawks.

The Australian team is scheduled to begin training this week, and it appears Ben Simmons will not be part of the roster. Perhaps an offseason tweaking his shot is the best thing for him to do anyways.
