BREAKING: Sixers Give Andre Iguodala His Payday

It appears as though the Philly Sixers (and their fans) will not have to endure the heartache of watching their most dynamic player go through unrestricted free agency.

According to ESPN’s Henry Abbott (hey, since when did bloggers start breaking stories?!), Andre Iguodala is about to be officially p-a-i-d.

The Philadelphia 76ers and restricted free agent Andre Iguodala have agreed to a six-year, $80 million contract.

Many of the details of the contract are still to be worked out, sources say, including incentive clauses that could increase the value of the deal beyond a base compensation of $80 million.

If anyone in the City of Brotherly Love had any questions about the front office’s commitment to winning, this summer should provide plenty of answers.
