Carmelo Anthony to Undergo Season-Ending Surgery

New York Knicks president Phil Jackson confirmed the inevitable Wednesday afternoon: Carmelo Anthony is dunzo for the remainder of the season.

Melo will go under the knife to repair his bum left knee, and the team expects the recovery time to be anywhere between four-to-six months.

Anthony’s final appearance on the court this season was at the NBA All-Star Game this past Sunday, when he registered 14 points and seven rebounds in 30 minutes of action.

From the press release:

The New York Knickerbockers announced today that Carmelo Anthony will have season-ending left knee surgery. The procedure, which will be performed by Team Orthopedist Dr. Answorth Allen, includes a left knee patella tendon debridement and repair.
