Chinese Team Offering Dirk Nowitzki $1.5 Million Per Month to Play

Dirk Nowitzki has been pretty non-committal when it comes to playing overseas during the NBA lockout, but the Zhejiang Lions will reportedly try and convince him that it’s not such a bad idea. From Fox Sports (via Bild): “NBA Finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks has been offered $1.5 million per month to play for the Zhejiang Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association, according to the German newspaper Bild. The Monday report called the offer the largest monthly sum offered to an NBA player since the lockout went into effect. But don’t be surprised if the German star turns down the mega-offer — he’s nixed big money before, and his current focus is on helping his native country at the upcoming European Championships. Germany is seeking a berth in the 2012 Olympics.”
