The Memphis Grizzlies announced Desmond Bane would miss an additional 3-4 weeks while recovering from the big toe injury he suffered in November.

The Grizzles said Bane is progressing in rehab and that if his sprained toe responds positively to a “reloading protocol,” he’ll be able to return to play by the end of December or early January. Bane was initially expected to miss at least 2-3 weeks of action.

Bane was averaging a career-high 24.7 points. 4.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game and quickly established himself as the Robin to Ja Morant’s Batman when he suffered his toe injury.
