Did Shaq’s Comments Embarrass Steve Kerr?

That’s the claim that Pat Riley is making.

In a bizarre twist to this ongoing saga, Pat Riley has now thrown Steve Kerr into the feud.

“We have sutured up the stab wounds in the back so everybody’s waiting for another onslaught,” Riley said Thursday. “That’s how we look at it.”

“I got a great call from Steve Kerr, who is absolutely embarrassed,” Riley said. “He was embarrassed by it. And so I said, ‘We are too.’ We feel like we’re two first-class organizations and I think the people should be aware of that.”

See, that right there is just dumb. Why get Steve Kerr involved in this at all? Whatever sympathy Riley may have gained from the basketball community following Shaq’s harsh remarks is now going to vanish.

Of course, this only gets better: Once Riley realized the gaffe he made, and after talking it over with Kerr, the slick-haired one was quick to claim that he exaggerated the part about the Suns GM being embarrassed. Making him a snitch and a liar. Outstanding.
