Gerald Henderson to Reportedly Ink Two-Year, $18 Million Deal With Philly

The Philadelphia Sixers have reportedly come to terms with free agent guard Gerald Henderson.

The deal is said to be worth $18 million over two years.

The 28-year-old averaged 8.7 points in 19.9 minutes a game for the Portland Trail Blazers last season.

Henderson, 28, joins a reshaped Sixers infrastructure that has started to include a blend of promising young prospects, including No. 1 overall pick Ben Simmons, and free-agent veterans such as Henderson, Jerryd Bayless and Spanish guard Sergio Rodriguez.

 

Henderson grew up outside Philadelphia, the son of former NBA guard Gerald Henderson Sr. Henderson attended Episcopal Academy in Merion, Pa.

 

For his career, Henderson has averaged 11.5 points on 44 percent shooting. In his best seasons in Charlotte – 2011-12 and 2012-13 – he averaged 15.3 points per game.
