Grizzlies Re-Route Patrick Beverley to Timberwolves for Jarrett Culver

On Sunday evening, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported a multi-player trade that would send Eric Bledsoe of the Memphis Grizzlies to the LA Clippers for Patrick Beverley, Rajon Rondo and Daniel Oturu.

Just two days later, the Grizzlies made a secondary move, re-routing Beverley to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Jarrett Culver and Juancho Hernangomez, as first reported by Wojnarowski.

This gives Minnesota a tough-nosed veteran guard as they attempt to make a playoff push in the 2021-22 season.

The Grizzlies in return were able to acquire Culver, who was the No. 6 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. While he’s had problems staying healthy and has a questionable jumper, perhaps a new situation will get his career back on track.

Memphis is putting together one of the most impressive young rosters in the NBA. Last season, Culver averaged 5.3 points and 3.1 points in 14.7 minutes per game.
