Heat Check (Hiatus): Milwaukee Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks could be one of the teams to indirectly benefit from the long layoff considering that superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo had dealt with and even missed the team’s final two games before the shutdown with a minor knee issue.

During the month of March, the Bucks saw an increase in production from some rotation pieces as a result. Kyle Korver cracked double digits, averaging 11.7 points per game (up from 6.4), as did Donte DiVincenzo who had elevated his game to 13.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists per.

Both Korver and DiVincenzo will be critical to establishing Milwaukee’s depth in the postseason. As will Brook Lopez, who went from averaging 10.7 points and 4.4 boards to averaging 14.2 and 5.0 in March.

SLAM’s Heat Check series compares each individual player’s personal production in the month of March with their production prior. The goal is to get a sense of the direction in which players were trending when the league stood still. For a more in-depth description, check out our Heat Check (Hiatus Edition) introduction.
