Hornets ‘Most Likely’ Destination For Russell Westbrook

After the departure of Rockets general manager Daryl Morey, both James Harden and Russell Westbrook are reportedly want out of Houston.

According to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor, the Charlotte Hornets are “most likely” to trade for Westbrook.

NBA icon and the principal owner of the Hornets, Michael Jordan, is interested in acquiring Westbrook. However, Charlotte is reportedly unwilling to include the third overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.

With guards Terry Rozier and Devonte’ Graham on the roster, along with a myriad of young players, the Hornets are in position to give the Rockets a strong package for their impending rebuild, even without their top-3 lottery pick.

If Westbrook will help the Hornets fill seats (when it’s safe to do so) and could make Jordan feel a little better about watching his team—one that has only reached the playoffs twice since he purchased the franchise.
