JJ Redick And New Orleans Pelicans Have Several Trade Suitors

JJ Redick, even at age 36, is still one of the better shooters in the NBA and continues to make a huge impact on the court. Currently a member of the New Orleans Pelicans, Redick is in the final year of his current contract, making roughly $13.1 million this season.

While we’ve already seen quite a few trades go down this season, there’s a chance that Redick could be another popular name on the trade market over the next couple of months.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets, and the Boston Celtics have emerged as potential trade destinations for Redick. Charania also reported that Redick prefers returning to the northeast area with his family in Brooklyn. Regardless of where he ends up if he is traded, it makes the most sense for a contender to acquire him—as he would help bolster their scoring to make a deep playoff run.

While Redick hasn’t gotten as much playing time as normal this season with the emergence of several young Pelicans guards earning more time, he still has been solid. He’s averaged 7.9 points per game this season but has struggled with .298 shooting from deep.
