Knicks Sign Willy Hernangomez And Mindaugas Kuzminskas

The new-look Knicks continue to take shape as the team has added 2015 second round pick Willy Hernangomez and Lithuanian forward Mindaugas Kuzminskas.

Hernangomez is a 22-year-old, 6-11 center who was teammates with Kristaps Porzingis in Spain. He averaged 6.1 points and 3.4 rebounds with Real Madrid last season. The big man signed a three-year deal with the Knicks.

Kuzminskas is a 26-year-old, 6-9 forward who went undrafted in 2011. He has played for Spain’s Unicaja the last three seasons and averaged 11.1 points in ’15-16.

Woj on Hernangomez

The Knicks held the rights to Hernangomez, who was the 35th overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft.

Hernangomez, 22, has developed into one of Europe’s best young big men, a prospect whose rights the Knicks pushed to acquire in a draft-night deal last year.
