Luke Ridnour Traded to Memphis Then Sent to Charlotte for Matt Barnes

In the span of 24 hours, Luke Ridnour has been a member of three teams—the Orlando Magic sent the veteran guard to Memphis, which then shipped him to Charlotte in exchange for Matt Barnes.

Barnes was part of a deal earlier this month that landed Lance Stephenson with the LA Clippers.

Per Yahoo! Sports:

The Grizzlies will embrace Barnes’ tough-guy persona, fitting perfectly into Memphis’ fierce group. Barnes, 35, has been an 11-year journeyman who brings some volatility to the wing position.

The Grizzlies sent the non-guaranteed deal of Luke Ridnour to Charlotte. It is likely the Hornets will waive Ridnour before his contract is guaranteed for the 2015-16 season, sources said.

The Los Angeles Clippers traded Barnes to Charlotte as part of a package for Lance Stephenson this month. The Grizzlies will pick up the option on the $1.2 million owed Barnes for the upcoming season, sources said.
