Mark Jackson Unhappy No Warriors Will Be in Three-Point Contest

Despite their robust three-point shooting abilities, no Golden State Warriors players were selected for the mid-season long distance showcase. This, understandably, made head coach Mark Jackson less than thrilled. From CSN Bay Area: “Jackson wasn’t pleased that the Warriors didn’t have a player selected for the NBA’s 3-point shootout – despite having three worthy candidates: Brandon Rush, Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry. The league selected the following players: Miami’s Mario Chalmers, Orlando’s Ryan Anderson, Minnesota’s Kevin Love, Atlanta’s Joe Johnson, New Jersey’s Anthony Morrow and defending champion James Jones of Miami. Love is shooting 36.1 percent from 3-point range, while Johnson is shooting 35.6 percent. Rush is leading the league in 3-point shooting at 54.8 percent, Thompson is third in the league at 50 percent and even Curry is shooting 42.5 percent from beyond the arc. ‘I want to congratulate Reggie Miller, Ray Allen, Larry Bird, Craig Hodges, Dale Ellis and Steve Kerr,’ Jackson said. ‘Because Brandon Rush and Klay Thompson don’t make the cut – shooting almost 55 percent and 50 percent from 3-point land. ‘Why don’t we just fly those guys (this year’s contestants) into Oakland and we can put something at stake … and I’ll take my guys.'”
