Marquis Daniels Re-Signs with Celtics

After considering New Orleans and a few other cities, Marquis Daniels AKA Q6 has decided to return to Boston next season. As the Boston Herald reports: “Marquis Daniels, hoping for a fresh restart with the Celtics after an injury-plagued 2009-10 season, just agreed to terms with his old team on his second straight one-year contract – this time a $2.5 million deal. The Celtics, under salary cap rules, are allowed to pay the swingman 20 percent more than last season…After returning to the lineup in February following thumb surgery, Daniels never regained his form. This way, according to agent Mark Bartelstein, Daniels has a chance to remind the league of who he is. ‘He’s a $5 million or $6 million player when he’s healthy,’ said Bartelstein. ‘So we’ll do this now. He loves the team. He loves playing for Doc (Rivers), and he loves the guys. And then we’ll see what happens next summer.'”
