Nuggets’ Will Barton Out Indefinitely After Knee Injury

The Denver Nuggets continue to have injury issues amidst being one of the best teams in the Western Conference. After losing Jamal Murray for the season earlier this month, Will Barton is the next member of the Nuggets to miss time.

According to Mike Singer of The Denver Post, Barton is expected to miss a “handful” of games with a right hamstring strain. While there’s no timetable for his return, Nuggets Head Coach Mike Malone said that Barton felt something pop in his hamstring.

Luckily for the Nuggets, Michael Porter Jr. has picked up the slack offensively where Denver has lost scoring due to injury recently. He’s averaging 23.1 points per game in the month of April.

While it’s unclear when Barton will return, the Nuggets will need him back as soon as possible. In 56 games this season, he’s been a primary starter, averaging 12.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists per contest.
