Pee Next to an NBA Player

by Marcel Mutoni

-Milwaukee is pleading with Mo Williams to stay. Reportedly, there’s a 5 year/$40 million deal on the table. Should he leave via free agency, it would be a huge loss for the franchise. Dude’s a cold-blooded baller.

-The Knicks have found themselves a shooter in Demetris Nichols.

-Ross Siler of the Salt Lake Tribune wants Utah to sign second-round draft pick Kyrylo Fesenko … because the guy provides great blog fodder:

He said he was in Ukraine, but told a story of the first time he got behind the wheel. Somehow he started in a field, but wound up nearly driving off a cliff with his girlfriend in the car.

“Her face like white,” he said.

He’s a funny guy, too. Asked how he spent practice on the sidelines, Fesenko said he “rode bicycle to Ukraine.”

(What’s with the Jazz attracting all of these quirky Euros?)

-If C-Webb can’t resign with the Pistons, he’d like to play for the Mavs, says Marc Stein. Desperate for a ring much?

-And finally for today, we visit Chris Sheridan’s Vegas notes (thanks to Lang for the tip):

The contest for the most tattooed player appears to be a dead heat between Kevin Pittsnogle, who is playing for Cleveland, and Robert Swift, who is still rehabbing his surgically reconstructed knee but is in town with the Sonics. Swift has also grown his hair long and is wearing it in a ponytail, and he appears to be quite a bit thicker.

Plus, my favorite anecdote:

The games during the first three days have been played at the Cox Pavilion, next to the Thomas and Mack Center, and there are no locker-room facilities for the teams. So whenever one of the players needs to answer nature’s call, he must use the same men’s room (there is only one in the building) that the fans are using.

(Talk about a close encounter.)
