Player of the D.A.Y.

By Sam Rubenstein

Last night was the office holiday party, and today the entire office is under the weather. Lang’s been out of town, and he couldn’t make the party, so I consumed enough free foods/drinks for two. Then, this morning (okay, afternoon), I had to run up to a midtown hotel to check out some new PS3 games. That led to more unhealthy eating, but the #1 motto of the Rubenstein family, handed down by both my father and my mother is “Never turn down free food.”

I don’t feel so good right now.

The award comes down to two people. Is it Dwyane Wade leading the Heat with an MVP-like performance over the Suns? Or is it Josh Smith, who put up fantasy fantasy numbers that had Emry gushing earlier. It comes down to the following:

Miami dominated Phoenix on the glass 46-29. The win continues their slow march back to respectability. However… THE ATLANTA HAWKS ARE A .500 TEAM 20 GAMES INTO THE SEASON!!! I’ll be down in the bomb shelter if anyone needs me. They beat mighty Orlando to get there, the best team in their division. So, the Player of the D.A.Y. is Josh Smith. And those numbers, which bear repeating were 25-16-5-4-4.
