Player of the D.A.Y.

By Sam Rubenstein

I’m slowly coming out of my rage and depression. Thanksgiving break was a lot of fun up until around 6:30 yesterday. But life is still great. Anyways, time to crown another Player of the D.A.Y.

When I started writing these, I figured it would be a good way to have a personal MVP vote. Whoever is the best player in the league on the most given nights should be the MVP. This doesn’t take into account Friday or Saturday night, but this isn’t the P.E.R. and I’m not trying to have a war of words with the very same stat crew that I mocked a few posts ago. Actually Lang introduced me to Hollinger a few weeks ago and he was a very nice man.

So… today’s winner is Carmelo Anthony. 30+ again, this one coming against the Clippers, who knocked the Nuggets out of the playoffs last year. Melo is way up there in the MVP race and he has – in my opinion – the best TV commercial of any basketball player right now. And he comes from the place where The Wire takes place. Everything’s coming up Melo.
