Player of the D.A.Y.

By Sam Rubenstein

This morning I concentrated mostly on what Shaq did to the Wizards and what Iguodala and the rest of the Sixers did to the Suns road winning streak in the East. Then I came to the office and spent a while editing down the Iguodala video and putting the text and photos and everything together. I’m sick of Iguodala right now, though he did play a great game… with Shawn Marion sitting out. If I were to penalize various players for taking advantage of teams that are missing their best players with injuries, my options would be drastically limited. That being said, honorable mention goes to Chris Paul for what he did to the team that could have drafted him. Boozer had a monster 24 and 16 against Memphis, but that was against Memphis. The Celtics are on their first 2 game winning streak in a loooooong time and for now the Grizz take over their spot as the team that can’t face the Player of the D.A.Y.

I wish I had an amusing youtube video to stick in here like the Taco Bell experience from yesterday. I love that Mark Cuban is still on the warpath, inviting people to try and shut youtube down with excessive spamming. His team is unstoppable and dominant, and has to be the favorite to win it all, and he’s still mad about something.
Back to the award. I’m giving it to Andrea Bargnani, who was 8 of 12 from the floor and 4 of 5 from three in a win that solidified the best month in Raptors history. The R.O.Y. race does not begin and end with Brandon Roy.
