Post Up: Big Night in Philly

Wizards 97 (7-8), Cavaliers 85 (13-5)

It was the John Wall show in this contest at the Q. The star point guard had 35 points, 10 assists, and 5 steals. Despite the King’s 24 points and 13 bounds (and this absurd bounce pass in transition), the Cavs couldn’t run with the Wizards tonight.

Sixers 103 (1-18), Lakers 91 (2-15)

What a night it was in Philadelphia. The crowd got the best of both worlds: they witnessed Kobe’s historic last game in his hometown, and the Sixers finally got a win! The Mamba had 20 points in the losing effort. Despite the significance of the victory, fans were still chanting “Kobe! Kobe! Kobe!” when the final buzzer sounded.

Nets 94 (5-13), Suns 91 (8-10)

Believe it or not, the Nets are kind of rolling. Brooklyn has now won four straight at home. They were led tonight by big man Brook Lopez, who had 23 points and 6 boards. Brandon Knight had 26 for the Suns, including one big slam.

Grizzlies 113 (11-8), Pelicans 104 (4-14)

It was all about the big men in this one. AD had 17 points, 14 rebounds, and 9 blocks for the Pels, and Marc Gasol had a career high 38 points to go along with 13 rebounds and 6 assists for the Grizz.

Magic 96 (10-8), Timberwolves 93 (8-10)

Wiggins had a big night for the Wolves (27 points), but missed a big free throw that could’ve tied the game down the stretch. Orlando was led by Vucevic’s double-double (18 points and 12 rebounds).

Mavericks 115 (11-8), Trailblazers 112 (7-12)

Vintage Dirk in this one. The vet had 28 points, 6 assists, 7 rebounds, and a clutch tip-in to send the game to overtime (…he also got crossed up pretty badly by CJ McCollum). To go along with Dirk’s big night, D-Will had 30 points and 8 assists.
