Post Up: Home Stretch

by Peter Walsh

Raptors 113 (33-48), Hawks 96 (44-37)

Rudy Gay and DeMar DeRozan gave Raptors fans a glimpse into what potentially could be a successful ’13-’14 season…that or the Hawks had no interest and went through the motions the whole game. I’ll go with a combination of the two. Gay shot 9-14 from the field for 22 point while DeRozan shot 11-17 and scored 30 points as the Raptors scored 68 points in the first half and shot over percent from the field to get the easy dub. The Raptors won their fourth straight over a playoff-bound team and look like they could make some noise next season. The Bulls and Hawks are tied for the five seed with Chicago owning the tiebreaker. Each team plays their season finale tonight.

Clippers 93 (55-26), Blazers 77 (33-48)

The Clippers rolled over the slumping Blazers to earn their 55th win of the season. Lob City absolutely dominated the hapless Blazers, leading wire-to-wire, outrebounding Rip City 51-33 and outscoring ’em 46-30 in the paint. The Clippers are still battling for the three seed with the Nuggets and home-court advantage in the first round. Caron Butler led the way with 22 points, Blake Griffin scored 16 and CP3 dropped 11 dimes. Will Barton scored 17 points, grabbed 6 boards and dropped 5 dimes.
