Post Up: Kevin Durant’s Historic Performance Lifts Nets Past Bucks

In perhaps the biggest game of the playoffs in the Eastern Conference thus far, all eyes were on the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks in Game 5 of their series. In the only game on Tuesday night, both teams would look to take the series lead, tied 2-2 coming into the matchup.

We broke down the pivotal Game 5 contest here.

BKN Leads Series 3-2

The Nets hit the first shot of the game, but wouldn’t lead again until 8:14 left in the contest. During that span of Milwaukee leading, Brooklyn was down by as much many as 17 points. From there, both teams traded buckets before the Nets pulled away late for the win. Although James Harden returned from injury and produced five points, eight assists and six rebounds in 45 minutes, it was Kevin Durant who was Brooklyn’s savior.

Durant played every single minute of Game 5, notching 49 points, 17 rebounds and ten assists in what was a historic playoff performance. Jeff Green knocked down seven of his eight threes as well to help the Nets climb back into the game. For the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way with 34 points and 12 rebounds in the loss. Game 6 will take place in Milwaukee on Thursday.
