Post Up: Suns Jump Out to Strong Start Over Bucks

In an NBA Finals where neither roster contained a player with Finals experience, the Suns and Bucks faced off in the opening game on Tuesday. In fact, Chris Paul accumulated 123 career playoffs starts before this Finals appearance, the most in NBA history.

We broke down Game 1 of the NBA Finals here.

No. 2 Suns 118, No. 3 Bucks 105

Giannis Antetokounmpo was a game-time decision with a knee injury, but was able to play and start in Game 1. He tallied 20 points and 17 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as the Suns had control nearly the entire game. Khris Middleton 29 points but had five turnovers while Jrue Holiday struggled, scoring just ten points.

The Suns’ trio of Chris Paul, DeAndre Ayton and Devin Booker shined in the Game 1 win. The three combined for 81 points, 25 rebounds and 15 assists. Paul did tweak his ankle during the game, but was able to continue playing while Dario Saric had a season-ending ACL injury. Game 2 is set to take place Thursday in Phoenix.
