Quincy Pondexter Reportedly Out for the Season With Stress Fracture

The Memphis Grizzlies announced today that swingman Quincy Pondexter is out indefinitely (and likely done for the season), after being diagnosed with a tarsal navicular stress fracture in his right foot. From the press release and Yahoo! Sports: “Pondexter (6-6, 225), who sustained the injury in the first half of the December 7 game against Golden State, was evaluated at the Campbell Clinic by team physician Dr. Fred Azar. The 25-year-old has averaged 6.3 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 18.0 minutes in 15 games (two starts) this season, his fourth in the NBA. He scored a career-high 22 points on Nov. 30 vs. Brooklyn. […] The Grizzlies confirmed Monday that an MRI revealed that he had suffered the stress fracture in Saturday night’s game, and the franchise declared him out ‘indefinitely.’ Nevertheless, the Grizzlies and Pondexter are resigned to the fact that he is likely lost for the season, league sources said. Memphis is already down center Marc Gasol (MCL sprain) and guard Tony Allen (hip bruise). […] Memphis is bringing in several guards for workouts on Monday, including Kendall Marshall and Seth Curry out of the NBA Development League and free agents Reggie Williams and Darius Morris, sources said.”
