REPORT: Cleveland Cavaliers Eyeing Garrison Mathews, Denzel Valentine

The Clevland Cavaliers have been busy this offseason, but they are reportedly still looking to sure up the back end of the roster.

According to Chris Fedor of, free agents Garrison Mathews and Denzel Valentine both have interest in joining the Cavs before the start of the season.

Mathews is a 24-year-old sharp-shooter coming off his second season in the NBA. Mathews has played in 82 NBA games, 64 last year, with an average of 5.5 points per game and a 38.9 field goal percentage from three-point range.

Valentine is a former first-round draft pick out of Michigan State, coming off four seasons in the NBA with the Chicago Bulls. Valentine has played in 223 career games and has career averages of 7.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.

The Cavs have already made quite a few moves this offseason, drafting Evan Mobley in the NBA Draft, trading away Larry Nance Jr. in a sign-and-trade to acquire Lauri Markkanen and trading for Ricky Rubio and giving center Jarrett Allen a five-year $100 million contract extension.

The Cavs are coming off another tough season, finishing 13th in the Eastern Conference with a record of 22-50.
