REPORT: Rockets Guarantee Contracts For Garrison Matthews and K.J. Martin

The Rockets have reportedly decided to guarantee up to $1.8 million in salary for Garrison Matthews and K.J. Martin, per Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

The decision comes after Matthews and Martim impressed the Rockets as role players and are reportedly pieces that fit the Rockets’ long-term plan for a rebuild. Matthews has averaged 11.0 points and 3.2 rebounds, while Martin has averaged 8.9 points and 3.9 boards during the 2021-2022 season.

On Wednesday, the Rockets (17-49) are coming off a 139-130 overtime win over the Lakers. The Rockets will look to build on that big-time win against the Mavericks Friday night.
