REPORT: Rui Hachimura is ‘Working His Way Back’ With Individual Workouts

After the Washington Wizards excused Rui Hachimura from training camp for personal reasons, the young forward has not yet practiced with the team. According to reporter Quinton Mayo, he “hasn’t been in the practice facility at the same time as his teammates” since he arrived in Washington on Oct. 11.

However, according to Troy Haliburton of The Washington City Paper, a front office source revealed that Hachimura has been coming to the practice facility and is “progressing daily.”

Wizards head coach Wes Unseld Jr. says, per Chase Hughes of NBC Sports, that Hachimura is “working his was back with individual workouts and weight lifting at the team’s practice facility” and that this has taken place when the media hasn’t be present.

As a rookie, Hachimura averaged 13.5 points and 6.1 rebounds. He then took the next step his sophomore year with averages of 13.8 points and 5.5 rebounds in 57 games.
