Sacramento Kings Want Chris Mullin to Be a Consultant

According to the Sac Bee, the Kings are looking to hire Chris Mullin as a front-office consultant, to work with new GM Pete D’Alessandro: “Sources said Mullin likely will accept. They spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the private nature of the offer. Mullin was the Warriors’ top basketball executive from 2004 to 2009. D’Alessandro worked for the Warriors from 2004 to 2008, the final two years as assistant general manager. D’Alessandro has never been a general manager, and Mullin would be a familiar voice of experience. […] Even if Mullin does not come aboard, D’Alessandro is expected to usher in a new regime in the front office. Amid the Kings’ losing seasons, coaching changes and ownership issues, the basketball operations staff has stayed largely intact. The group that helped the Kings become NBA title contenders in the early 2000s now likely will be replaced.”
