Samuel Dalembert Thinks He’s Going to Play in the All-Star Game

Expectations are understandably high in Philadelphia this year. When a franchise commits to $160 mil in salaries in a span of weeks, it’s only natural that its stakeholders expect something big in return.

The Sixers will undoubtedly be a better team, and may even send a couple of guys to the All-Star Game. Center Samuel Dalembert expects to be on a plane bound for Phoenix in February.

Starting center Samuel Dalembert has high expectations for himself in 2008-09.

“Personally, I expect to be an all-star this year,” he said.

Barring injury, Dwight Howard is a lock for the starting spot on the East team, and Chris Bosh will likely be his backup. That leaves one spot on the team, one that was occupied by Rasheed Wallace last year.

Sammy averaged a double-double last season, and playing alongside Elton Brand this year can only help matters. Still, he might be aiming a little too high.
