The Return of Monta Ellis

by Marcel Mutoni

At last, Moped-Gate will come to an end tonight. Monta Ellis will make his season debut in Oakland against the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers.

After practicing with the team for a couple of weeks, Ellis is ready for prime time. The San Fran Chronicle reports:

After leaping off his surgically-repaired ankle for a perfect alley-oop dunk during Wednesday morning’s shootaround, Monta Ellis finally let loose.

“Let me play!” he yelled for all to hear.

At long last, the Warriors will.

Of course, playing will be the least of Ellis’s problems going forward. His dispute with the team over the punishment following his injury remains unresolved.

Monta’s agent recently met with top Warriors brass, but their stance on the possibility of penalizing him further remains unchanged. Oh, and there’s that small matter of the grievance filed by Monta against the organization. Interesting times ahead in the Bay.
