Key Offseason Decisions
- What happens with Fred VanVleet? Can Toronto sign him to a new deal before one of the point guard-needy teams with cap space can throw him a huge offer?
- Will the Raptors run it back one more year? They’ll hang onto free agent rights for Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka and others. The question is if they’ll re-sign them.
Projected Team Salary
Anything Toronto does this offseason is with the 2021 offseason in mind. The Raptors have big dreams of bringing in a star that summer. If they bring back Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka, it’ll be on one-year deals. That makes a new contract for Fred VanVleet the real decision to watch. He’ll command a long-term deal. It’s up to Masai Ujiri to get creative to keep VanVleet, while maintaining as much flexibility as possible for 2021. (@KeithSmithNBA)
