Trail Blazers to Sign Jaylen Adams

The Portland Trail Blazers intend to sign Jaylen Adams to fill the vacancy on their roster left by Trevor Ariza, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports. The guard last saw big league action with the Atlanta Hawks in 2018-19.

Adams is expected to join the Blazers when the transaction window closes at the end of the night tonight. The 24-year-old is fresh off an All-G League nod with Milwaukee’s affiliate after averaging 20.7 points and 5.7 assists per game at the minor league level.

Adams will compete for playing time in Portland’s backcourt with the likes of Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum and Anfernee Simons. His brief, rest-of-season deal with the franchise, however, will come to an end in the offseason.

Prior to joining Milwaukee’s G League affiliate, the Wisconson Herd, Adams played through training camp with the Bucks.
