Worthy of Your Attention

As we collectively attempt to pick our brains up off the floor following the Hawks’ amazing victory in the A last night, let’s take a look at tonight’s matchups. And folks, let’s make the effort to watch these games. The ratings aren’t looking so hot these days.

Sixers @ Pistons, Game 5: Philly had Detroit on the ropes in Game 4, but their inexperience caught up to them, and now they must walk into the Palace of Auburn Hills and try to pull off a miracle.

Though the Pistons may not give a damn what their head coach has to say, there’s no reason to think they’ll return to Philly without the series lead.

Jazz @ Rockets, Game 5: I’ll be honest, I want Houston to pull off the win tonight. If only because Houston delaying its inevitable demise will tire the Jazz slightly, and give the waiting Lakers a little more to rest before their dogfight of a series.

Oh, by the way, T-Mac threw his coach under the bus following Game 4. So he’s got that going for him.

Mavs @ Hornets, Game 5: The League decided not to suspend Jason Kidd for his decapitation attempt on Jannero Pargo in Game 4.

Considering how poorly he’s played in the series, Mavs fans are probably mad at Stu Jackson and company for not keeping him out of uniform.

Suns @ Spurs, Game 5: As the Phoenix Suns were putting the finishing touches on the Game Four demolition of the Spurs, ABC’s cameras caught Tim Duncan and Tony Parker sharing a hearty laugh on the bench. I thought that a pretty telling sign as to how San Antonio feels going back home for this pivotal game.

Phoenix should put up a good fight in this do-or-die situation, but they’ve given us no reason to believe this series will extend past tonight.
