Worthy of Your Attention

Tonight’s game is obviously a biggie. Both teams will be playing with a heightened sense of desperation – the Lakers because they simply cannot afford to fall into a 3-1 hole; the Celtics because the last thing they need is a tied series with Game Five in Staples – and we have all the makings of a classic game.

Both teams have figured each other out by now, and there’s no longer any room for excuses (jet lag, for instance). It’s time to see who truly deserves to win this thing.

I’m not emotionally prepared to discuss how disappointed (nay, infuriated) I am in Lamar Odom’s play thus far in the series, but for the good of everyone, let’s just hope he comes through tonight. Same goes to you, Pau. The fate of the series is in your hands.

I expect KG and Pierce to play a lot better in Game Four, and if Ray Allen keeps up the torrid shooting, it could be lights out for the Lakeshow.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I must rush out of here and make it to the Staples Center before the traffic swallows me up.
