Wrist Sprain Sidelines Patrick Beverley

The Los Angeles Clippers will be without point guard Patrick Beverley for a few games, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. The 31-year-old sprained his right wrist during the team’s game on Saturday night.

While Beverley initially attempted to return to action, he ultimately took to the sidelines for good when it became apparent that he would struggle simply grasping the ball.

I’m concerned a little bit about what the injury is,” head coach Doc Rivers told the media after the game.

Beverley has averaged 8.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game for the Clippers this season and has flexed the pesky defensive skillset that makes him one of the game’s premier perimeter defenders all season.

Beverley initially hurt the wrist during a fall on a driving attempt, ESPN’s
Ohm Youngmisuk
recounts, and had x-rays conducted on the area which revealed that nothing was broken.
