Two Kansas freshmen ineligible for season

For the last seven years Kansas has won the Big 12 regular season title, but winning an eighth straight took a huge hit on Friday when two Kansas freshmen were ruled ineligible for the season.

Ben McLemore and Jamari Traylor were considered just partial qualifiers by the NCAA for this season, meaning they will be forced to sit out. McLemore was a 6’5″ guard from St. Louis that ESPNU ranked the 49th best prospect in the class of 2011. Traylor is a forward from Chicago that finished his high school career at the IMG Academy in Florida.

Kansas received the news just hours before they were about to kick of their season with Late Night in the Phog.

McLemore and Traylor make three Jayhawks ineligible for the season. In September, fellow freshman Braeden Anderson was also ruled a partial qualifier.
