In a strange twist of fate, Chris Paul‘s terrifying head injury last night in Cleveland got much of the credit for inspiring the Hornets in their win against the Cavs. Sports are a strange beast in that way.

Paul was carted off the court in a stretcher, after colliding with Ramon Sessions head-first in the third quarter.

According to the New Orleans Hornets, Paul suffered a concussion, but he was responsive and in good spirits.

The Times-Picayune reports:

Paul was taken from the court on a stretcher after alerting trainers of neck pain. He was fully conscious and did not lose feeling anywhere at any time. Paul was taken to the Cleveland Clinic for precautionary tests, according to a release issued by the Hornets Sunday night.

All tests taken at the hospital were negative and revealed that Paul suffered a concussion. Paul rejoined the team at the arena and will accompany them to Chicago on tonight’s charter, but he will not play Monday night against the Chicago Bulls.

It has yet to be determined when CP3 will be back on the floor.
