Donovan Mitchell Took a While to ‘Cool Off’ at Rudy Gobert

Donovan Mitchell was angry at Utah Jazz teammate Rudy Gobert‘s admitted carelessness amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Both All-Stars tested positive for COVID-19, but report they’re feeling well and on the road to recovery.

Mitchell, 23, told ABC’s “Good Morning America” that he remains symptom-free for the time being.

Per The Salt Lake Tribune:

“I can walk down the street; if it wasn’t public knowledge that I was sick, you wouldn’t know it,” Mitchell said. “That’s the scariest part about this virus, is that you may seem fine, be fine, and you may never know who you may be talking to, and who they’re going home to.”

When (Robin] Roberts asked Mitchell if he’d had any contact with the Frenchman, the guard was measured in his response, which was as notable for what it did not say as for what it did.

“It took awhile for me to kind of cool off,” Mitchell said.

“I read what he said and I heard what he said. I’m glad he’s doing OK, I’m glad I’m doing well. I’m just happy, to be honest — I hate to say that it’s two of us — but that it wasn’t the whole [Jazz traveling] party. At the end of the day, neither him nor I have children at home — I have some teammates that have children, some staff that have children at home. So I’m glad that we were able to contain it as much as possible.”
